Note on IPR/Patents, etc.

We receive queries on Patent Cell/IPR Facility on campus as well as the IPR/Patents filed and/or in the pipeline and/or granted. Herewith we are providing an omnibus response for whoever is curious and interested to know about this aspect:

  1. As part of the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) process we submitted our mandatory ‘Self-Study Report (SSR)’ to NAAC in January 2019 and on completion of the assessment and accreditation process we were awarded A++ grade (with CGPA 3.66/4). This SSR is available on our website and it contains details of the patents submitted/awarded during the period of assessment of five years: 2013-2014 to 2017-2018—Refer to Section 3.4.3 under the Criterion 3: Research, Innovations and Extension.
  2. In the above Centres we are focusing largely on what is called ‘Translational Research’ (or more colloquially, ‘Lab to Bedside Research’) and are hopeful of generating a fairly sizeable amount of IPRs and Patents in various Schools, particularly in the Centre for Artificial Intelligence of Things and Mixed Reality (AIoT and MR).
